Hi, I have two very large cordolyne australis plants that I would like to build planters around. The planters would be approx 2 ft high. Would this harm the plants?

If you mean they're in the ground, and you want to build planters around them, thus raising the soil level by 2 feet, no, its not a good idea to bury 2 feet of stem under soil.
