I have a 10m x 1m garden bed at the edge of my verandah. What can I put in it? No higher than 1m with full sun all day all year. Not annuals. I sit out there a fair bit and want something interesting to look at.

Thank you so much for those suggestions. I really hadn't thought about these types of plants, but they would be ideal for the blast from south of Sydney sun. Will go to my local nursery and investigate. Very grateful.

The difficulty is the narrowness, but how about Yucca flaccida 'Golden Sword', Astelia chathamica Silver Spear, Phormium cookanium varieties.
