I have cordyline (maybe Apropurpurem or red Star, not sure) Was in small container and root bound. Transferred to larger plot. Tips of leaves very brown and dry. Any suggestions why please?

sounds like weather damage, frost and or wind burn.
you could trim them with sharp scissors.
