any ideas of a name only has flowers on one branch the other is very brown with no growth at all

this looks as if it is blackthorn. it has spikes/thorns about 1" long. it leafs up soon and if you are lucky you get shiny blue black fruits called sloes. used to flavour slow gin. it is a british native and used in hedging along with hawthorn. i love it.
