I am growing potatoes for the first time this year. I have opted for the Dunluce variety which I intend to grow in a patio container.

I am nearing the end of the chitting stage, but some of the tubers are softer than others and have a greenish cast to them. Will they be suitable to plant? Also, the sprouts are a dark brown colour with short hairs growing out of them. I have been advised that these should be green and have never seen any mention of the hairs - is that normal?
