They should be sown fresh in a coldframe. If they are not fresh, they may not germinate. :-(

Yes i found this out the hard way. collected seed and kept it cold and dry over winter and nothing. i expect shop bought seed in the foil sachets will germinate no probem.

I tried to grow 'Astrantia from seed last year -did all the Seed Packet told me - nothing came !!
