when should i mow my new lawn?

i have layed a new patch of grass turfs and they are knitting together really well (all this rain i reakon!) so when should i mow? not in a hurry on looks etc.Just dont want to kill off the new patch! and they have been down now three weeks! thankyou !

Hi Linda........if I were you I would leave the turf till mid April before you start mowing, simply for the fact that it may "ruck" up so soon after laying. We did a similar thing last year and all was well until a piece of turf which hadn't rooted as well as the rest caught in the mower.

Hi Linda,
Don't try to cut your lawn too soon, put a light roller over it. If you do not have a roller on your mower, set it at it's highest setting.
