what is the best position
to grow sissartmc hium striatum I live in South Yorkshire and have a south east facing garden,

Do you mean Sisyrinchium striatum, Janet? The tall creamy-yellow flowered plants with Iris-like leaves?

They prefer a sunny position, but will take a little shade. I have large clumps growing in gravel, where they seed themselves. They obviously like it there. :-)
