I have an apple tree about five years old, we had a good crop last year but this year seven apples. when suould I prune it? and what else do I need to do. Alan Orton

Here's the link to the RHS pruning advice.

It's possible that a frost affected the flowers on your tree so you didn't get a good crop this year. You could feed it in early spring with a general purpose fertiliser - and hope we don't get frosts at the wrong time next year!

We have trees that only bear a crop every other year, and that is quite normal for some varieties. Don't despair!

How do I say thanks?
