last prog someone suggested cooking oil in water butt to stop mosquito larvae hatching out.
I thought this was a god idea too, some years ago, then a few months later wondered what the awful smell was...
The cooking oil had gone RANCID!
I rang the health dept & they suggested parafin; better than kerosine as more pure. But I like the idea of BIO DEGRADABLE washing up liquid better, that was also suggested on your panel. Over & out! Pam

You could put a goldfish in the waterbut and he would eat the larve. I read that tip in the amateur gardener some time ago on Bob Flowerdew's page........no need for additives then
