Went to Wisley today for the Plant Fair and bought 4 Fuchsias. Border Queen, Royal Acadamy, Whiteknight Pear and Star Wars. They are all meant to be hardy 'in the ground' but not necessarily in pots. I can't believe these little things should be planted out now, so shall I just pot them on a bit and plant them out next year? Sorry it's such a long question.

You can pot them on, but that would mean keeping them somewhere frost free over winter - fuchsia are sensitive to frost and cold through their roots, which is why they're hardy in the ground and not necessarily in pots.

Thanks Bamboo, I think I'll keep them in my summerhouse then until Spring.
