What is the minimum depth required for an alpine garden built on top of a concrete slab (for dustbins). I have only about 100mm to play with and what should the ratio of compost to pebbles/ grit be?

Thommo if you really only have a square 100mm x 100mm (4 inches by 4 inches) I can't see any way you can create a alpine garden - not only that you can't create a alpine garden on top of concrete you would need to remove it all first.
