What do I do with my gladioli after they have flowered? Do I need to leave them until the leaves die back or can I cut them down to the ground? I wasn't planning to pull them up and replant next year as I was hoping to leave them in. Any thoughts on what's best? Thanks

hi i just cut the flower stem off when its finished flowering and leave the rest till they die back naturally.i also leave the bulbs in the ground.good luck.

The longer the leaves stay green, the more flowers you will get next year. I do suspect that you will need a sunny southern exposure and sandy soil to keep Gladiolus alive through the winter, unless it is G. byzantinus.

How do I say thanks?
