I have lived in my current house for the past 6 years and every summer, since moving in I have had a fantastic display of BUSY LIZZIES, lasting all the way through to the end of September. This year, disaster. Planted them in May, as usual, but by early July they had all died. They have been watered everyday and protected with Slug Pellets on a regular basis. Does anyone know why they have died. I purchased two lots from different garden centres.

I think one of the other members said there's a disease going round this year that's killing a lot of bizzy lizzies, so perhaps it's that. It's been a funny old year for lots of plants this year, with the humidity and warmth causing mildew and all sorts of trouble. Can't help any more than that, sorry. Perhaps whoever it was who mentioned this earlier will come on and give a bit more help. It's such a shame to lose a lot of plants! Annie

Here's the link to the RHS site, where it explains the disease and what to do. It's very sad - and it doesn't look hopeful for Busy Lizzies. At least it doesn't affect other plants!
