i've had this viburnam tree for about 6 years and it has bloomed every spring since planting.

this year was no differant except when it was done flowering it just turned brown and looks it dead or does it go dormant?

No, they don't go dormant during summer, unless they're suffering severe drought. Which Viburnum is it? Were there any other symptoms other than die back and is it still alive or completely dead?

Hi could it be the wind that has made it turn brown, mine also turned brown, so did my hydrageas, they dont usually go dormant, as once cut back, they produce growth for next years flowers, good luck.
