I bought two hybrid tea roses from a reputable garden centre two year ago. They develop beautiful buds but these droop, then begin to die off before opening. What is causing this?

Any other symptoms on the buds as they start to wilt and later? Such as white dust near the base, or do the buds then blacken and shrivel? Or any hole made into the buds? Otherwise, shortage of water, particularly in containers, may cause this.
