When is it a good time too move a small magnolia tree?

And it may well sulk for ages - they hate root disturbance. If its been in less than 2 years, try to get a solid clump of soil around its rootball when you do move it, so it doesn't realise.

Previous question
Late autumn of early spring whilst the tree is dormant. If trunk diameter is more than 4 inches could be a challenge to move at all.
