I have a plant that has been identified as a Bottlebrush. What is it's real name. It has round dark brown leaves, and dies back in the winter

Not a bottlebrush then - the proper name for bottlebrush is Callistemon - usually evergreen with linear leaves. Post a photo of your mystery shrub for ID if you can.
