courgettes, male flowers only

my courgettes have plenty of flowers but all male no fruit. I had no problem last year also I have lots of quash and tomato seedling growing from in my homemade compost used this year for potting up. will they fruit? thank you for any advice.

When the weather is unusually hot, courgettes, like many members of the squash family, will produce only male flowers. Some varieties are more susceptible than others. If they are in a greenhouse, pay close attention to ventilation in hot weather. Volunteer seedlings of squash and tomatoes will be edible, but they may not match their parents. Squash can be extra problematic that way, since it will cross with some species of gourds, making the second generation dry and bitter!
