I have had 3 tree peonies for 3 years. The first year 1 of them grew buds but they didn't open. Nothing last year. This year, the same peony had 3 buds which nearly opened before they rotted. Can anybody help?
PS They are in containers.

Tree peonies are gross feeders, probably need a real good dose of Tomorite before flowering and a general fertiliser in Summer.

They also need to have grown to a certain size before they will flower. See Scotkat's blog on her yellow tree peony.

How do I say thanks?
