It rather depends on whether it's seeds, live plants or cuttings etc.
On the basis that it's live plants, as deep as they were in the pot, probably 15 to 18 inches apart.
If it's T.pallida (purpurea) which I've seen being sold as hardy - it's not! Plant in pots and bring indoors for the winter.
