We grow them as landscape plants here in the subtropical desert, but they are only hardy down to about -6.7º C. You could probably keep them as indoor-outdoor plants, in containers of a fast-draining compost, with regular doses of half strength 15-30-15 fertilizer. Outdoors, give it as much sun as possible, but in extended gray, rainy weather, put it under the porch roof, to keep it from drowning. It likes to dry out completely between soakings. It is easy to propagate from cuttings or division, especially once aerial roots develop on the above ground stems.

Thanks for that Tugbrethil , v.useful info. They are still only in 3" pots at the moment in the greenhouse and only 5-6" tall but the root system is coming on and soon I think it will be time to pot on. Cheers.
