Are they biennial or perennial wallflowers ? If they are biennial then they are usualy pulled up and thrown on the compost heap but if perennial then cut dead flowers of and leave rest of plant to go through the winter.

I usually leave all wallflowers. Even if they are supposedly biennial varieties, I find that they often come back and survive for one or more years after the first flowering season.
