Our Verbascum Arctic Summer looks dead. Is there anything we can do? It grew very vigorously last year - up to about 5 foot. My sister did not cut it back or anything and this year it is very brown with no signs of life at all.

This plant is either a very shortlived perennial, or a biennial, meaning it grows one year and flowers the next and then dies. Not sure whether yours has flowered or not, but if its not showing signs of life by now, it's dead.
