Hello I wonder if you know what this tree is in the picture ? i grew it from seed from a russet apple and its the first time it has put flower spikes on but it does not look like any apple flower i have seen

Neither do the leaves look like those of an apple. I think something else seeded in your pot and has grown on. Sorry I can't i.d.

Some sort of willow I think - that looks like a "finished" catkin. Maybe a goat willow - how big is the tree, Grandalise?

beatie the tree is about 8 to 10 ft high and i have been told via the internet that The shape seems to indicate fasciation.

That isn't fasciation which occurs when two, or more, flower stems fuse together. Looking at the photo again, I'd agree with Beattie a willow.
