I planted horseradish 2 yrs ago and it was healthy,but this winter it has died and rotted away why,the ground is rich and healthy Roger

This does die right away in winter. It's difficult to get rid of, usually, as the root is like a long Dandelion root and will regrow from broken off pieces if you try to dig it up. It should re-appear soon.
