I have a large cordyline australis which is now touching telephone wires. Some palms can have a section of trunk removed then re-joined would this be possible instead of removing it completly

The Cordyline australis originates in New Zealand and is even known to survive snow. Here is a website, however it says to prune it when young.....

Then on our own GOY, go to this page, plenty of info.
