can the compost in containers be re-used and what needs adding for food

Answers

It is only suitable for use in pots for a couple of years as it breaks down eventually. You can either mix in some plant food granules/ Growmore or whatever granular food you have or use it to improve soil structure in the garden. Don't use it for seed sowing or for pricking out as it may contain weeds/diseases/pests that will ruin the seedlings. For permanent planting in containers use a John Innes (soil-based) compost.
