I have a mature Myrtle bush : Grows on You

I have a mature Myrtle bush(6ft) that's showing no signs of shooting, the leaves are brown, would the harsh winter have killed it off?

Thanks Bamboo, it was such a robust looking bush (more like a small tree) but with all the leaves brown it looks pretty terminal. I'll leave it till the end of April & keep fingers crossed. Cheers, Macdee
