have got some astrantia coming for my garden that has obviously died back. How deep do I plant them? Have been advised to mark where they are with gravel?

Hi Thankyou for your great advice. Am still new to all this - not been gardening for a full year yet! Am having the astrantias by mail order so haven't seen them yet but lady at nursery implied they have been cut back for planting.Hoping for a fine weekend for planting.

I'm surprised they have died right back so soon. Mine are looking a bit tatty but still have leaves. Just plant them so that the top of the plant is at ground level. They do disappear completely in winter apart from a few dead stalks so it will be a good idea to mark the spot.
