United States Us

hi can anyone please give me info /advice on what i believe is called a chocolate plant i bought this a few weeks ago at a flower show ,got it quite cheap is it a hardy plant how big does it grow etc

I think you've got a cosmos - I had 2 last year - unfortunately they died...I don't think they liked being left out in the winter. The flowers really do smell of chocolate. They grew quite tall - 18" or so, with little chocolaty flowers at he tops of the stalks.

Cosmos comes from Mexico and will not tolerate cold winters. In milder parts of the UK (zone 8-9), we can get them through the winter by giving them a dry mulch to protect the roots from the frost. They never really go dormant so will not take prolonged freezing
