i put them in pots and the flowers need to be removed. shall i leave the roots or bin them?

They don't survive the winter outside - you can have them as houseplants instead if you want, otherwise just bin them.

They are treated as annuals and I compost mine Guest. Some take them indoors over winter but I think they are 'leggy'.

You can take cuttings and stick them in a small green or brown beer bottle with water they will sprout loads of roots but delicate wait until they have loads and pot up. They eed water and shouldnt dry out.
