Old foliage whenever you have the time.
Wait until there is no more danger of hard frost.
Outside in the day, inside at night. Lot of carrying back and forth.

It will be a faff but pop them outside during the day and then back in at night especially if frost is forecast.
Also you can remove the dead foliage.

I think they’ll probably just get popped about a foot or so outside the shed door - the pots are massive !!

Keep your Agapanthus in the shed until the risk of frost has passed, usually until mid to late spring. Remove old leaf foliage once new shoots are well-established in early spring to promote healthy growth.
