Hi I bought this Acer at the start of the season from my local asda and it has doubled in size should it be in the ground rather than a pot? and when should I 're position it?
Thanks

usually happier in the ground, preferably in slightly acidic soil. But they need to be grown out of windy areas as this will cause leaf scorch, as will direct sun. In the wild they tend grow in the under storey or on the edge of woods. So bear that in mind.
If you have a spot for it in the ground follow my suggestions on your hydrangea question.
