How do I safely remove creeping wood sorrel from my well-established asparagus bed? Is it safe to use chemicals?

I use spot weeder, just rub it on a few of the weeds leaves & it will travel down to the root.

I don't use chemicals so I grub the plants out as soon as I see it and hopefully before any seed pods 'explode'.
it is edible apparently.
It will respond to weedkiller but you will have to be careful you dont spray the asparagus.
