I 'd also go with hollyhock/mallow. There are several native ones that get to about 4-6ft tall. will be in flower shortly though. easier to id it then.
I have one between cracks in the path and the down pipe and I have tried pulling it out. I gave up 4 years ago and just enjoy the flowers.

Looks like a Hollyhock to me also. Just leave it where it is & enjoy the flowers

Thankyou all, it is unanimous that it is a Hollyhock, it now stands over 6ft tall and has flowers top to bottom.When in flower I will show you all.

Could either be a mallow or hollyhock. Way oversized for the area it is in so you might like to remove it though its taproot goes deep so it will take some tugging.
