i have a pot grown outdoor bamboo which has been very healthy so far but the last few months it has gone very dry and dead looking any ideas

Hi, this is a problem garden centres regularly experience; healthy bamboo's need constant watering.
Strip all the dead foliage, take the bamboo out of the pot and submerge it in a bucket (or barrow) full of water. Leave it for a couple of days. (Ideally a water holding gravel area is better so it can be left for longer). The bamboo will start shooting in due course but don't let it dry out again!
Used to work every time.
