What is this vining shrub my neighbor planted? Could this be an oakleaf hydrangea? Who can ID this? Thanks?

Not a hydrangea anyway.

Fatshedera?

Fatsia japonica, I think. I believe Fatshedera is an indoor plant, Ivy type of growth.

Hi, x Fatshedera lizei, is a bigneric hybrid genus of 1 species, and is only frost hardy, as is Fatsia japonica, so neither of these will be able to stand much frost, and should have winter protection, the plant in the photo is x Fatshedera lizei, common name, tree-ivy, Derek.

I had a Fatshedera and it was a climber. It tolerated winters here in Devon. I got fed up of its sprawling habit.

OK thank you. I think my neighbor intends for it as a divider on the south border. We get some brutal winters. I hope it lasts.

Could it be a fig tree I ask myself?
