How to plant seeds of aubrieta, on the surface or under earth, I put some under earth and only one has come through, they seem to like brickwork, seen loads growing out of garden walls.

Better to start seeds indoors in a flat. Make sure the soil is slightly moist, loose, rich & fluffy. Sprinkle the seeds on the surface then just barely cover them with more soil. Water seeds with a fine mist and keep soil moist at all times, warm with lots of indirect light. Seeds will germinate in a week or so. Just keep moist at all times with lots of light as they grow. Gradually acclimate to the outdoors as they mature and plant them outside using a teaspoon to lift and set the seedlings wherever you want them to grow. Full sun.
