I have a new wooden trellis planter. It did not come with a liner. Do I need to purchase a plastic liner for it please?

Just be sure to let it dry thoroughly before pouring in the compost.

you could use the fibre liners that slowly rot down. the alternative is to paint it with wood preservative like ronseal etc. this will help protect the wood from rot.
