Last winter killed a lot of the perennials I had in my flower beds. ( lavenders, flowering bushes etc ) I was too busy/lazy to repair the huge gaps by planting more. Is it too late in the year too plant new perennials now? Should I just keep the flowerbeds empty till spring and fix things then?

Now is actually a good time to plant as the roots are still active even if the tops aren't. Stock availability though might be a problem.
