You can get bare root privet plants as well which are almost as cheap as beech. £1.83 for a single one, down to 48 pence each if you want 1000 or more.

Privet from cuttings, even now will do. Beech, from seed. However, I would buy bare root whips, they're cheap. About 30p - 40p from a grower, a foot to eighteen inches tall. Phil J
