My tomatoes always seem to split and have a deep ring around the top area, can you tell me how to cure this please?

The ring is known as 'Whitewall', the cause is usually excess light, high temperatures, and/or insufficient feeding. Splits/cracks are usually caused by variable water supply and/or fluctuating temperatures.
