Our neighbour uses them but they don't crop as well as the ones he puts into 'long toms'.

I believe Balcony uses them if I remember rightly. I seem to remember that he did a blog last year about growing Tomatoes on his balcony and he uses them.

You are quite right, Jen! I do have them on my balcony & I've used them several times. I will probably use them again this year as well!
You plant your little tomato plant in the middle & water into the surrounding "well". As they have "teeth" which help them stay upright in the growbags they are quite stable. Only water with fertilizer into the soil at the base of the plant - NOT the growbag itself nor the "well".
You get a few extra inches on soil/compost on top of the growbag which is always very welcome. ?

Lol. Glad I remembered rightly. After I saw yours I thought about getting some but have decided to used large tubs this year instead of grow bags. Thought they looked a good idea ?

Thank you for your comments. I have now bought three containers so I will trial three different tomato plants and let you know if they are successful .

Best of luck to you. I will be planting my tomato plants in them on growbags at the end of the month.
Do come back later & tell us how you got on with them, won't you?

No but I once made my own out of pieces of vinyl floor covering standing on growbags and it did work well.
