Where do you use lime

Answers

You can use it to help break down acid heavy clay soil and for brassica and some other veg crops. Sprinkling a small circle of it round brassica stems helps to prevent cabbage root fly attacks.
If your ground is neutral you shouldn't normally need it much as a regular thing.
Ground limestone is calcium carbonate so contains only calcium and carbon, bound with oxygen so doesn't contain any other plant nutrients. It is very alkaline. Its wise to measure your soil's pH (its acidity or alkalinity) and if its higher than 6.5 you don't need to add it at all as it will be bad for acid loving plants.
