My husband has just taken some beans off his runner bean plants for seed fo r next year. Some of the beans are a very luminous blue colour, but he has only planted ordinary kidney beans, some had red flowers and some had white flowers. Can you tell him where the blue beans have come from please.

the sead coat will change colour as it dries. its is just a natural variation in colour and nothing to worry about. there are many genes for colours and it is the rando combination of them that has producd them.
