Not quite "gardening", but referring to vegetables.
I'm soon to go to California to visit my daughter and family who are all vegetarians, but have a problem in this case. I've been a great fan of curries for many years - Indian and Chinese and will be making these for them, but I've neve, everhad a veg curry
I imagine onions, peas, carrots ?, mushrooms, but what else ? They all like potatoes but won't these go to mush in a curry sauce ? I'm sure some of you guys can help me here.

Morn Hank, enjoy California, will be lovely this time of year. I use sweet potatoes in curries and stews as is good for holding its instegrity. Well done on your family for sparing the animals. Enjoy.

Okra, aka ladies' fingers, go very well in a curry veg or otherwise.

Like the idea of baby reds- no peeling. Will I find them in Ralphs ? Now checking what okra is, and Angela's recipe.

baby reds are everywhere. You should have no problem finding them - any supermarket

South Indian cookery is largely vegetarian. If there is time I can lend you a book with lots of recipes in. I haven't used it as I don't make curry but you are welcome to borrow it for the duration. Let me know and i'll post it asap.

Next question
Not all potatoes are alike. For this dish, I would recommend baby reds. They hold up well in stews and don't need to be peeled or you can "bikini" peel them for visual interest. They are quite tasty skins and all.
