We are having our garden landscaped at the moment. The lawn will be laid in approx 10 days time. Is it safe to do this at this time of year? I would be most grateful for any advice.

Yes - it's a very good time, Valerie. The soil is still quite warm, and (as Bamboo says) there will soon be plenty of rain to settle it in.

October is actually the best month to lay turf - provided the soil isn't waterlogged. Hopefully, the autumn rains won't have arrived before they lay it, but will arrive shortly afterwards.
