I can't tell how big that plant is, but I'm more interested in how long its been planted there in terms of being able to say whether its okay to move or not, Stroller - it doesn't look particularly large in the photo, but its hard ot get a sense of scale.

Bamboo, its been there about 5/6yrs and is about 1mtr high and the same spread.

1 metre? After that long? Its not a happy bunny then is it? In theory, after 5 or 6 years, there should be a very sizeable rootball and other longer roots around and about. If you need to move it, do it in October, dig around it carefully, extracting any long roots as you go, and try to keep a good rootball round the base nearest the plant. If you know you've broken a lot of roots, cut it back by half when you replant.

Thanks Bamboo, that time will be fine as I want to re-define that end of the garden so will be moving quite a few of the perenials and replanting them. Although it isnt overbig it is very green and glossy.
