I would like to grow large baking potatoes on my allotment, where can I get seed potatoes of this type and what is a good variety?

I assume you are planning for next year as it is far to late in the season to grow potatoes now. I (personally) like King Edward's, these are fairly easy to grow and produce large numbers of equally large spuds.

There are lots of seed suppliers out there who will send you a catalogue and add you to their list for delivery next year. Do an internet search of seed potato suppliers and you will be spoilt for choice!

Good luck with your allotment.

Desiree are good as a baking potato, it really depends whether you like your tatties waxy or floury.
